Overview
S-PPKI: The next generation of business
S-PPKI is a uniform infrastructure for the management of digital certificates and private keys, useful to both businesses and individuals. These digital certificates and private keys represent a growing and effective system used to verify the identities of computer users worldwide. With tens of millions of users now using the Internet for business and legal transactions, as well as a multitude of other sensitive communications, verifying identities is a present need. Businesses, copyright holders, consumers and individuals alike must be protected from fraud and theft.
S-PPKI was developed by NR Lab to provide a standardized interface for interaction between all servers, systems, and software products using asymmetric cryptography methods, which, among other things, are used in generating and using digital certificates and private keys.
S-PPKI will also likely be instrumental in instituting a revolutionary new intellectual-copyright protection technology developed by NR Lab, dubbed AlFa.
S-PPKI is comprised of two subsystems.
The first subsystem operates on traditional PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) principles; it authenticates digital certificates, issues digital certificates and/or signatures for registered users, can revoke and renew certificates, and create Certificate Revocation Lists (CRL's).

The second subsystem securely stores users' private keys. Using this system, as opposed to autonomously storing private keys on individual computers, gives users greater freedom to move between computers (e.g. at home, office, internet cafe, etc).

Corporations can utilize S-PPKI as an application solution for any system utilizing asymmetric cryptography to send secure communications, or to verify, authenticate, or utilize digital signatures and/or digital certificates. S-PPKI can be utilized in any applications that deal with asymmetric cryptography. S-PPKI authenticates users on corporate servers using SSL protocol mechanisms. The authentication procedure and security policy, within the corporation and outside it, is implemented with the use of a standard interface. Through this interface, corporations can easily integrate their applications and services with our secure system.
Individuals can use S-PPKI to present digital certificates for authentication, to locate and import digital certificates and keys from other PKI systems, to obtain their individual private keys by means of a password, and to change their passwords and private keys.
